The Trump administration fired fewer than 50 workers from the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) over the weekend after the fear of wider layoffs that caused confusion among staff was quickly revoked.
Reuters learned on Friday from sources that 325 NNSA workers had been notified of being fired from the agency responsible for maintaining the country’s nuclear weapons.
The NNSA reportedly employs around 2,000 people and despite an ongoing war with Russia, they work around the world to secure nuclear material, including Ukraine.
Hours after receiving the notification on Friday, some of the layoffs were cancelled, causing chaotic situations elsewhere around the country as many employees were worried about employment. occurred, sources told Telegraph Service.

On Sunday, a Department of Energy spokesman confirmed that fewer than 50 employees on Fox News Digital have actually been fired from their position.
“Less than 50 NNSA employees were fired.
