The Trump administration has supported a months-long campaign against what it says is strict European censorship regulations that not only curtailed freedom of speech, but also served as another obstacle in the evolution of artificial intelligence.

“In Europe, thousands have been convicted of crimes criticizing their government,” the State Department recently posted on X, accompanied by graphics denounced Europe’s Digital Services Act (DSA). “This Orwell’s message doesn’t fool the United States. Censorship is not free.”

The EU has adopted DSA in 2022 to regulate online platforms such as social networks, content sharing platforms, and app stores, with the aim of “preventing harmful activities online and spreading disinformation.” The law has since faced opposition from the Trump administration amid promotions of freedom of speech at the global stage.

The State Department’s X-Post follows a months-long campaign by Trump officials denounce Europe for strict rules that restrict free speech.

Fox News Digital spoke with Darren Beatty, the most notable online, who explained that Europe would adopt hatch for restrictions and censorship, as the Trump administration has adopted hatch for restrictions and censorship, as Europe moves to strengthen censorship with laws such as the DSA.

“We’re rolling back the US censorship industry with actions like what the State Department did, what we did in the State Department (Global Engagement Centre), and that’s happening across the administration,” he said. “What’s happening is that Europe, the European Union and the UK are moving to pick up sagging. That’s intensifying in Europe as we’re pushing back the censorship regimes domestically.”

The Global Engagement Centre, established in the Obama-era State Department, was positioned as a focus on countering foreign advertising and disinformation, plagued by accusations of censorship. The Trump administration’s State Department closed its office in early 2025.

Beatty added that the US has not taken a “holy than you” approach to the issue, noting that censorship was looming heavily across the United States under the Biden administration. He pointed to cases such as social media user Douglas McKee. Douglas McKee was convicted in 2016 of conspiring to curb voter turnout after posting a fake voting message in 2023.

“We were moving in that direction in a very dangerous way under Biden,” he said. “The government’s weaponization that occurred under Biden was serious.”

President Donald Trump gave a highly anticipated AI speech at the end of July, and released the administration’s plan of action, which includes protecting AI systems from bias. White House Director of Science and Technology Policy Michael Krazios previewed the plan to the media. This included a warning that the US would not go down the same technology path as Europe, citing strict regulations on technology.

“The Action Plan calls for the release of American AI innovations from unnecessary bureaucratic bureaucratic tapes, requiring that all Americans will enjoy the benefits of AI technology and leverage AI to promote new scientific breakthroughs,” he said.

“When it comes to deregulation, we cannot afford to go down the regulatory path that kills European innovation. Federal agencies will review the rules on books and eliminate those who are blocking the development and deployment of AI across the industry, from financial services and agriculture to health and transportation.”

The AI plan focuses on three pillars, one of which focuses on ensuring that bias is not included in the US system.

“The second is that we believe that AI systems are not ideologically biased and not designed to pursue a socially designed agenda,” AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks said on July 23rd at a press conference.

Vice President JD Vance is at the forefront of administrative leaders who condemn Europe’s restrictions on AI and freedom of speech, including the EU’s digital services laws.

“U.S. innovators of all sizes already know what it’s like to deal with troubling international rules,” Vance said at the AI Litigation Summit in Paris in February. “Many of our most productive tech companies are forced to deal with the EU’s digital services laws and the massive regulations they have created about removing content and cracking down on so-called misinformation.”

“The future of AI will not win by holding hands on safety. From reliable power plants to manufacturing facilities where chips can be produced from futures, we will win by buildings,” he added.

Vance traveled to a security conference in Munich just days after his Paris speech, days after which he delivered another fiery speech that disciplined Europe for adopting “Soviet-style” tactics that cooled free speech.

Jonathan Turley: Democrats, Clinton and Globalists work together to censor Americans…for “democracy”

“To many of us on the other side of the Atlantic, it appears to be an old, entrenched interest hidden behind ugly Soviet-era words like “misinformation” and “disinformation.” Simply, someone with a different perspective expresses a different opinion and votes in a different way, or even worse, in the election.

The speech sparked criticism in Europe and the US, including CBS host Margaret Brennan. In an interview with Secretary Marco Rubio, he proposed that the free remark about “Face the Nation” in February was “weaponized” to bring about the Nazi Holocaust.

Rubio began his fierce defense of Vance, noting concerns that Europe holds the same values as the United States, including protecting freedom of speech and democracy.

Trump was praised by faith leaders for AI leadership in warning of the “potential danger” of technology

“Why are we frustrated by our allies or someone expressing their freedom of speech and opinions? After all, we are democratic,” Rubio said. “The Munich security conference is primarily a democratic conference, one of the capabilities we cherish, values speak freely and provide your opinions. So if you’re angry at his words, they don’t need to agree with him, but I don’t think you need to be angry about it.

“I worry that the effective points he has in Europe are the true values we share, the values we associate with Europe, are like freedom of speech and democracy, and the shared history of winning two world wars.”

Federal Communications Commission chief Brendanker in March said surveillance of DSA’s online content was incompatible with US freedom of speech.

“There is a risk that the (EU) regulatory regime will impose excessive rules regarding freedom of speech,” he told the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March. “Censorship coming down the pipe potentially from [Digital Services Act] It is incompatible with our tradition of freedom of speech. ”

The White House will be laying out at the end of July and focusing on promoting innovation through reduced regulations, focusing on maintaining freedom of speech, while unleashing artificial intelligence, which is said to lead the next “industrial revolution.”

The White House ensures that the system is free from top-down ideological bias in order to ensure that governments only contract with large frontier language model developers to update federal procurement guidelines, and removes the troublesome federal regulations that “require private sector input on rules that hinder and remove AI development and deployment.”

Trump has signed the trio’s executive order aimed at implementing his AI agenda. This includes those that ban the federal government from procuring artificial intelligence built with the “awakening” ideology.

“I sign an order that prohibits the federal government from procuring partisan bias and ideological agendas, such as those that are ridiculous and important racial theories, and from now on, the US government will only deal with AI that pursues truth, fairness, and strict equity,” he said.

“We’re not going to go through the madness we’ve been through over the last four years. …We’re not hanging at all now. In fact, like someone told me the other day, it’s not so cool to wake up,” he added.

Fox News Digital contacted the EU press team to comment on the ongoing crusades against the Trump administration’s European censorship, but did not receive a reply immediately.
