President Donald Trump denounced the film industry’s status in a social media post on Sunday, announcing plans to implement Hollywood-related tariffs.
In Sunday’s Truth Social Post, Trump wrote, “The American film industry is dying very quickly.”
“Other countries offer all sorts of incentives to separate filmmakers and studios from the United States,” Trump argued. “Hollywood and many other parts of the United States are devastated.”
The president said the situation was “a coordinated effort by other countries and therefore a threat to national security.”

“It’s message and propaganda, along with everything else!” Trump wrote.
Republicans said his plans to enact tariffs were under work, and he approved the Commerce Department and US trade representatives “to immediately begin the process of enacting 100% tariffs on all films that come to our country, which are produced on foreign lands.”
Trump urged the United Nations immunity and LAX visa rules amid national security concerns.

“We want a film made in America again!” Trump concluded.
The comments come after some of Trump’s tariff plans were suspended in recent months due to market turmoil and rebound. On Sunday, Trump said he would not drop tariffs on China to ensure Beijing came to the negotiation table.

“At some point, I’m going to lower them, because otherwise I can’t do business with them,” Trump told NBC’s Kristen Welker. “And they want to do business the same way the economy is doing really badly. Their economy is falling apart.”
