The potential misconceptions could have played a key role in the Trump administration’s successful strike in a trio of Iran’s nuclear facilities on Saturday evening. This was suddenly announced in the Truth Social Post by President Donald Trump a few days after he said his decision on Iran would unfold within the next two weeks.
“We have completed a very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordou, Natanz and Esfahan,” Trump told The Truth Society on Saturday evening. “All planes are currently outside of Iran’s airspace. A large number of bombs have been dropped on the primary site.
Trump’s surprise announcement was made in advance without media leaks, and White House press director Karoline Leavitt announced Thursday during a press conference that he would make a decision on the possibility that Trump could hit Iran within two weeks, in contrast to his impending decision.
“I have a direct message from the president. “Based on the fact that there is a considerable potential for negotiation that may or may not be with Iran in the near future, I will quote and decide whether I will go within the next two weeks,” Leavitt said at a White House press conference citing Trump on Thursday.

Ahead of the Saturday evening strike, six B-2 stealth bombers from an air force base in Missouri appeared to be on their way to a U.S. Air Force Base in Guam, U.S. officials confirmed Saturday with Fox News.
Fox New National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin appeared on Saturday evening and said the news of the strike was broken that the bomber report was part of “a misleading bite issued there to suggest that President Trump may have postponed the decision.”

“The six B-2 bombers heading west towards Guam would not have reached Iran in time to take part in this strike, so it suggests that there was probably an additional B-1 package flying east from Whiteman Air Base. She said this while talking to Fox News’ Brett Bayer on Saturday evening.

“But as we knew it, there were other signs. We didn’t report earlier this week, despite knowing that Whiteman Air Force Base had issued a notice suggesting that the base had been closed for so-called repairs until Monday, June 23rd. There were some clues that this could be some indication of the time frame,” Griffin added.

In his true social post, Trump said he would address the nation at 10pm Eastern Standard Time and provide details about the strike.
“We will address our people at 10pm at the White House regarding our highly successful military operations in Iran. This is a historic moment for America, Israel and the world. Iran must agree to end this war. Thank you!”

Israel halted nuclear negotiations and then launched its first strike on June 12th after months of attempts and stalling that raised concerns that Iran was moving forward with its nuclear program. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soon declared that “a strike is necessary to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s survival.”
He added that if Israel does not act, “Iran can produce nuclear weapons in a very short time.”
The strike, known as the “Operation Raisinglion,” targeted Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure and killed senior Iranian military leaders.
Israel has begun sweeps in Iran, and the Trump administration is seeking diplomatic solutions
Trump repeatedly urged Iran to do a nuclear program before attacking nuclear facilities, but the country withdrew from continuing talks with the US scheduled for June 15 in Oman and refused to return to the table for the next few days.

“Iran should have signed a ‘deal’ that I told them to sign,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday evening. “What a shame, a waste of human life. I said that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. I have said many times! Everyone should evacuate Tehran soon!”
