President Donald Trump appointed California Sen. Bill Essayri on Monday as a US lawyer for the Central District of California.
Since 2022, the essay represents Corona (ward 63), a conservative patch of California’s Inland Empire in Riverside County. The 39-year-old previously worked for the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Lawyer’s Office in Los Angeles. He was the first Muslim ever to be elected to the state legislature.
In X’s post, Essayli wrote that he “intentioned.”[s] To restore confidence in our judicial system and implement the President’s mission to pursue those who dare to harm the United States and our nation. ”
“This past election we’ve added true fighters. I’m sure they’ll continue the important work they need in Congress to start winning Republicans in California,” he added.

Essayli has created headlines in recent weeks after moving forward with the frontline in 2023 and demanding that teachers and staff be notified of parents if a student changes gender identity at school on January 1.
The U.S. Department of Education said the policy could violate the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, a law that allows parents to access their children’s records. The department says it can take away funds if it determines that the California School Identity Act violates federal rules.
Essayli recently reversed state policies that allow Transgender Women to compete in women’s sports through AB 844, which will publish Governor Gavin Newsom on X after a podcast interview with Charlie Kirk.
This is great. The story is cheap @gavinnewsom. Why not support my Building AB 844 and reverse the CA law so boys can compete in women’s sports? You are the governor and not a commentator! https://t.co/qgjwfcfgxv

The essays have already opened seats in the state legislature. He will need confirmation by the Senate before he can formally begin a new appointment. It is unknown when that will happen.
