Trump bashes Putin as “very sorry” after a massive Ukrainian strike

President Donald Trump said he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelenksy “if necessary” in the coming weeks.

The president’s comments come shortly after he condemned Russia’s recent massive strike against Ukraine.

Russian troops fired hundreds of drones and missiles in Ukrainian cities on Sunday. The attack, which has been called the biggest air attack of the war to date, has targeted Kiev, the capital of Ukrainians.

Ukrainian officials said at least 12 people were killed and dozens more were injured.

Though past strikes have proven to be more deadly, attacks are the biggest air attacks of the war in terms of weapons count. 298 drones and 69 missiles have been released.

The president on Wednesday was asked if he believes Putin actually wants to end the war with Ukraine.

“In two weeks, we’ll see if he’s banging us,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office at a ceremony where Janine Piro is sworn in as interim US lawyer. “And if that’s the case, we’ll react a little differently.”

Trump said his special envoy in the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, “is doing an incredible job” and “is dealing with it very strongly now.”

“It seems like they want to do something,” Trump said.

But Trump once again condemned the Russian attack, saying, “Now that people have been killed, I am extremely disappointed with what happened with what you call negotiations.”

“I’m extremely disappointed with that,” Trump said. “It’s very, very disappointing.”

Trump warns Putin that he is “playing with fire” after Russian president declares he’s “absolutely crazy.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Voldimir Zelenki has expressed his willingness to sit back and again with Trump, Putin and Putin of Geneva.

When asked if he was planning on sitting with Putin and Zelensky, he said he was happy.

“Well, if that’s what we need… we have to, I wish you were like that a few months ago, but at this point we’re working on President Putin and we see where we are,” Trump said. “I think we’re fine, but I know.”

Envoy Keith Kellogg is preparing for a possible speech in Geneva, but it remains unclear when it will take place. Russia has yet to agree to the US peace proposal, and the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday claimed it is still working on that memorandum.

Russia is proposing the possibility of a meeting in Istauru, Turkey.

Meanwhile, the president said again on Wednesday: “I don’t like what’s going on. That’s one thing I say. I don’t like seeing rockets being shot by cities. That’s not good. We’re not going to let that happen.”

The president over the weekend said he was blowing up Putin and “killing a lot of people.”

“I don’t know what happened to Putin,” he said over the weekend. “I’ve known him for a long time, and I’ve always been with him, but he sends rockets to the city and kills people. I don’t like it at all.”

In a Telegram post, Zelenskyy called for an international response to the attack.

“The silence of America, the silence of others in the world only encourages Putin,” he wrote in the telegram. “All Russian strikes of such terrorists are reason enough for new sanctions against Russia.”

Trump expanded his comments later on Sunday, criticizing Putin, who also criticized Zelensky, “Absolutely crazy!”

“I’ve always said that (Putin) doesn’t just want everything about Ukraine, but it’s not only that, but it proves it’s right, but if that’s the case, it’s going to lead to the downfall of Russia!” Social media posts have been read. “Similarly, President Zelensky doesn’t like his country by speaking like him.

“This is a war that would never have started if I were president,” Trump concluded. “This is not ‘Trump’, it’s the war between Zelensky, Putin and Biden, and I’m helping to put out the big, ugly fire that began through great incompetence and hatred. ”
