The House voted along a bipartisan line Tuesday afternoon to counter the only progressive lawmaker’s bid to each of President Donald Trump.
Lawmakers agreed to this measure, a procedural mechanism that allows members of the proceedings to vote against the consideration of the bill without voting for the bill itself.
The resolution was provided by Rep. D-Texas Al Green, who was infamously kicked out of Trump’s speech to a joint Congressional session earlier this year due to repeated suspensions of the president.
It’s a sign of how politically caustic the efforts are, dozens of House Democrats join Republican lawmakers and kill Green’s resolution.

After threatening to fire Trump each, Green said his latest bid was intended to be a presidential strike against Iran from the weekend.
“I didn’t come to Congress while the president abused power and entrusted American democracy to authoritarianism as an authoritarian president,” Green said in a statement Tuesday morning.
“President Trump’s illicit bombings on Iran constitute a de facto declaration of war. The president has no right to draw this country into war without the permission of people’s representatives.”
Other progressives, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., called for Trump’s bounce each against the strike in Iran.

Trump laughed at these progressives in Tuesday’s long truth social post and untold them to “make my day.”
“She’s better to start worrying about her primary election before she thinks about defeating the great Palestinian Senator, Creein Chuck Schumer, Trump wrote. “She and her Democrat friends hit the lowest poll count in Congress’ history, so go ahead and try bang each,” he posted.
The push has also placed House Democrat leaders in a difficult place. House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y., declined to question questions about a progressive call to expel Trump at a press conference Monday.

“The tool currently on the table is to continue to require the administration to present itself before the US Congress and to assert the American people about why this extraordinary step was taken. That’s Step 1,” Jeffries said.

“Step 2 is about a resolution of war power, whether it should occur after that, as it should have occurred, as it was already supposed to occur on the house floor, whether it was already introduced or anyone else who could have been introduced thereafter.
Jeffries again pushed against him whether he was seriously calling out Trump each. “This is a dangerous moment where we are and we have to get over what is right in front of us. And what’s right in front of us is that the Trump administration is responsible for coming to Congress and justifying the actions it has seen evidence that justifies its aggressive strength in Iran,” Jeffries said.
