President Donald Trump reportedly is undergoing criminal investigations Wednesday to former CIA director John Brennan and former FBI director James Comey for potential fraud related to the Trump Russia investigation.
Fox News Digital first reported on the probe. This assesses whether Brennan is allegedly making a false statement to Congress.
During a meeting with African leaders in the White House state room on Wednesday, Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Dorsey asked the president to respond to the investigation.
“Want to see these two guys behind the bar?” Doucy asked the president.

“Well, I don’t know anything about it other than what I read today,” Trump said. “But I tell you, I think they are very injustice people. I think they are bent like hell.
“I think they’re really bad people and cheating people,” the president added. “So no matter what happens, it happens.”
A Justice Department source told Fox News Digital that CIA director John Ratcliffe mentioned evidence of fraudulent conduct to Brennan’s FBI director Kash Patel for potential prosecutors.
Sources said Ratcliffe’s introduction was received and the Brennan criminal investigation was held to Fox News Digital and is ongoing. The DOJ source refused to provide details. At this point it is unclear whether the investigation extends beyond his suspicious false statements to Congress.
Regarding Comey, a DOJ source told Fox News Digital that an investigation into the former director was underway but could not share details of what was being investigated specifically.

The full scope of the criminal investigation into Brennan and Comey is unknown, but the two sources could describe the FBI’s view of the DU’s interaction as a “conspiracy” and open up a wide range of potential prosecutor options.
The FBI and CIA declined to comment.
Neither Brennan nor Comey responded immediately to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The Brennan survey came after Ratcliffe declassified a “Lessons Learned” review on the creation of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). The 2017 ICA alleged that Russia was trying to influence the 2016 presidential election. However, the review found that the ICA creation process has been rushing with “procedural anomalies” and that officials deflect from intelligence reporting standards.
It also decided that “the agency’s decision would have Steele Dossier run counters to the ICA on the basic trade principles and ultimately undermine the reliability of important decisions.”
The document – the anti-Trump document, commissioned by the Fusion GPS and filled with unverified, completely inaccurate claims paid by the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the DNC – is widely distrusted. Last week’s review was the first time that CIA officials have acknowledged the ICA to politicize the process of being written, particularly by Obama-era political appointees.
Trump has long criticised both Brennan and Comey for his involvement in the 2016 intelligence report assessment of Russian interference in the US election.

Trump claimed that Brennan and Comey politicized intelligence to undermine his presidency, and viewed the investigation as an “equipped witch hunt” that undermines relations between the “Russian hoax” and Russia.
The investigation was carried over by special advisor Robert Mueller. Robert Mueller ultimately concluded that there was inadequate evidence of criminal conspiracy between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.
During Trump’s first term, the Justice Department tapped another special advisor, John Durham, to investigate potential falsehoods of the FBI’s “Crossfire Hurricane” probe into alleged Trump-Russian ties. The probe, which includes an investigation into the role of Steel documents, led to criminal charges against three low-level FBI staff. Durham discovered a serious mistake by the Bureau, but he determined that there was no illegal acts by FBI leadership.
In May 2025, Trump specifically called for a social media post by Comey, featuring shells that he arranged to read “8647,” which he interpreted as a veiled call to assassinate the president. Trump labeled the post as an inciting violence, claiming that Comey “knows what he was doing.” Comey said he was unaware of a potential interpretation of the numbers and deleted the post.
