President Donald Trump touted his poll numbers while talking to reporters on the White House lawn on Wednesday.
“My approval rating is the highest ever,” the president declared, referring to the newly released national survey.
But five months after his second mission tour at the White House, Trump’s approval rating remains underwater, though not most, but not all, of the latest national polls conducted over the past three weeks.

The average in the latest survey suggests that the president’s approval rating in his late 40s is slightly above 50%.

Trump is actively advocating for executive officials in his second term, seeking to significantly cut the federal workforce through an avalanche of drastic and controversial executive orders and actions aimed at overturning long-standing government policies and addressing complaints he has held since his first term.

And the loyal president has been keeping headlines over the past two weeks, including the last two weeks of sending the National Guard and the US Marines to Los Angeles to slash ice detention and deportation of illegal immigrants, and the protests against his US contemplation to join Israel by attacking Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump began his second administration with votes in positive territory, but his votes began slipping shortly after the inauguration ceremony in late January. The president’s approval rate had sank underwater by early March, and remains in much negative territory in most national investigations.

Former President Joe Biden, whose single term in the White House is between two Trump terms, enjoyed a positive recognition rating five months later in June 2021.

However, Biden’s numbers sank into negative territory in the late summer and fall of 2021. After highly critical handling of the turbulent US exit from Afghanistan, inflation has skyrocketed amid the surge in immigration that has crossed the US along the southern border with Mexico.
