Trump sends a message to Obama: He “puts a huge burden on me.”

President Donald Trump discusses the Supreme Court’s decision on the president’s immunity in his accusations against former President Barack Obama for pushing forward the story of Trump’s false conspiracy.

President Donald Trump is expected to meet British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer during ongoing trade negotiations between the US and the UK, where he arrives in Scotland for a job where he is expected to meet British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer to visit some of his fortunes.

“We met with the Prime Minister tonight,” Trump told reporters on Friday before departing for Scotland. “We’re going to talk about the trade contracts we’ve made and perhaps we’re going to improve it.”

“We want to talk about certain aspects that are good for both countries,” Trump said. “More tweaking. We’ll also be celebrating a bit together, because we did very well. The UK has been trying to do business with us for 12 years and we couldn’t do that. We’ve done it.

Trump heads to Scotland to talk about golf, politics and trade

President Donald Trump will create waves when he arrives at Glasgow Prestwick Airport in Prestwick, Scotland on July 25, 2025.

In May, the US and the UK announced that both countries had agreed to a large-scale trade agreement. This marked the first historic trade negotiations signed after the release date after Trump announced extensive tariffs across multiple countries on April 2 at a wide range of fees.

Trump, who is scheduled to remain in Scotland until Tuesday, will also be visiting the Turnberry and Aberdeen golf courses overseas.

This is what happened this week too:

Visit to the Federal Reserve

Trump visited the Federal Reserve Headquarters on Thursday.

Trump accompanied other administration officials on tours at headquarters, and was renovated to the $2.5 billion building. The massive project attracted scrutiny from lawmakers, including the president, and members of the Trump administration.

“I think he’s terrible… I didn’t see him as the guy who needed a palace to live in,” Trump said on July 16th.

Four important takeouts from Trump’s visit to the Federal Reserve with Powell

President Donald Trump will speak with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell (right) on July 24, 2025, when he visits the Federal Reserve System in Washington.

On Thursday, the two temporarily refrained from paying for the renovations, but Trump later told reporters there was a “good meeting” and “no tension.” Trump also closed speculation that he might kick Powell out, claiming that such a move was unnecessary.

The Federal Reserve, the US Central Bank, oversees the country’s monetary policy and regulates financial institutions.

Trump has historically opposed Powell, calling him names like “Numskull” and “Too Leate.” Similarly, Trump expressed his anger towards Powell, ignoring his demand to lower interest rates.

“Well, I’d like him to lower interest rates, but other than that, what can I tell you?” Trump said Thursday.

Signing the retirement package

Trump signed the law on Thursday, supporting already approved foreign aid and federal funds for public broadcasting for a retirement package of about $9 billion.

The Retirement Act has been revoked nearly $8 billion in Congressional funding, already approved by the United States Organization for International Development (USAID), a previously independent agency that helped poor countries and provided development assistance.

The retirement package also withdraws more than $1 billion from Public Broadcasting (CPB), which provides federal funding to NPR and PBS.
