President Donald Trump continued to push the idea of America winning Greenland on Tuesday night, dedicated some of his speech to the topic as he made a statement before a joint session of Congress.
Trump has declared that the US will welcome Greenlanders if they decide to join America.
“And I have a message to the incredible people of Greenland tonight. We strongly support your right to determine your own future. If you choose, we welcome you to the United States,” declared Trump.

He said the United States needs an island “for national and international security.”
Trump has promised that such unions will bring both security and prosperity to Greenland.
“We’ll keep you safe. We’ll make you rich. And together we’ll take Greenland to heights so you’ve never thought of before,” he said.

Trump had previously proposed the idea, but it was noteworthy that he chose to tackle the issue during his speech on Tuesday.
“For the purposes of national security and freedoms around the world, the United States feels that ownership and control of Greenland is absolutely necessary,” Trump declared in the Truth Social Post in December.
In a January post, Trump said, “Greenland is an incredible place and people become part of our country.

According to the official Danish website, “Greenland has its own large local government, but it is also part of the Danish territory.”
