President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he was disappointed in Russia when he launched a missile while trying to reach a peace deal between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Voldimi Zelensky.
Trump spoke with reporters before boarding the Air Force Sunday evening. There, they were asked about everything from peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, to Iranian peace negotiations to the suicide of Jeffrey Epstein’s accuser Virginia Zhuhul.
In the gag, the president said that on Saturday the meeting with Zelenskyy was very successful.
“We’ll see what happens in the next few days,” Trump said. “I was very disappointed that the missiles were being flew by Russia…I was very disappointed.”

Trump and Zelensky met for the first time since the infamous oval office spewed in February.
After the meeting, the Ukrainian president posted to X that the meeting could be “very symbolic” and potentially “historical.”
The meeting came as peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine appeared to be halting Zelenskyy and Putin making competing demands.

Trump called his meeting with Zelenskyy “beautiful” on Saturday.
“Look, we’re on a tough road ahead, right?” Trump said. “He said he needed more weapons, but he’s been saying that for three years. He needs more weapons and we’re going to see what happens.
“I want to see what happens with Russia,” Trump added.
He explained that he was extremely disappointed in Russia after debate with the two countries after bombing in Kiev.

Trump said Zelensky spoke to him about Crimea. This was a sticking point for the Ukrainian president.
American officials have clearly come to mind the idea of recognizing control of Crimea, a territory that Russia seized in 2014 as part of its ceasefire proposal. This includes the freeze on the current frontline.
However, Zelenskyy drew a red line about Crimea.
In 2022, Zelensky said that the Russian war with Ukraine and the war against Free Europe as a whole “must begin in Crimea and end with Crimea and its liberation.”

On Tuesday, Zelensky repeated his stance, closing down the idea that Ukraine would recognize Russia’s rule over Crimea.
Trump has denounced former US president Crimea.
“Crimea was given to Barack Hussein Obama and Biden like it was 11 or 12 years ago. That was a long time ago,” Trump told reporters. “I don’t know how he will raise Crimea, because it’s been a long time. No one has raised it for 12 years and now he’s raised it.
As far as current negotiations on reaching peace are concerned, Trump said he wanted Putin to “stop shooting, sit down and sign a contract.”
“We have a range of deals. I want him to sign and exchange it,” the president said.

Since he returned to his oval office, Trump has said the United States is more respected than ever. He also stated that with that strength there is action he could do against Russia, but he is not trying to act.
“There’s no more games,” he said before digging into former President Biden another. “We have people who know what he’s doing, not like the person before whom we didn’t have a clue.”
Trump touted that costs have been declining “farther down” since implementing tariffs.
For example, he said groceries, eggs and gasoline would come down. He also said the US is “a lot of money” from tariffs.
“In the end, we’re going to cut taxes very significantly on the people in our country because money is so great from tariffs, so I’m going to be able to cut taxes very significantly and almost completely,” Trump said.
In addition to tariffs, the president has worked on peace talks in Iran.
