President Donald Trump on Sunday vowed Washington, DC, “safeterial and more beautiful.”
“I take care of my precious capital, and we make it truly, truly, wonderful! It was the most beautiful capital in the world.
Trump also announced at a press conference at the White House scheduled for 10am Monday that plans to address homelessness, public safety and city cleanliness will be in detail.

“D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser is a good guy who tried, but she’s given plenty of opportunities, the crime numbers get worse, the cities become more dirty and less attractive. The Americans don’t hold back anymore,” Trump added.

Trump wrote in another truthful social post that he hopes the homeless “quickly” to travel far from the “country capital.” “Criminals, you don’t have to move. We’ll put you in jail where you belong,” he wrote in the same post, adding that new crackdowns on both issues “come “very quickly.”
“There’s probably none,” he said. “We want to regain the capital,” Trump wrote, adding that details of those efforts will be laid out at a press conference on Monday.

Trump has repeatedly characterized Washington, DC as “one of the most dangerous cities in the world.” On Saturday, Trump said his administration “essentially stops violent crimes.”
Last week, Trump said he was weighing a federal takeover of DC police, including a potential deployment of the National Guard, to tackle rising crimes in the capital.

The new focus follows a series of violent incidents across the city. Some people have involved federal officials, including well-known employees of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), who are victims of attempted carjacking.

“We have a very unsafe capital. You know, we have almost lost a young man, a beautiful, handsome man who knocked out hell from him,” Trump said.
“Out of control” DC crimes, with “thugs” and “gang members” randomly attacking, robbing, attacking and shooting “innocent citizens.”

“President Trump has directed an increase in the presence of federal law enforcement agencies to protect innocent citizens. There will be no safe ports for violent criminals in DC tonight,” White House press director Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to Fox News last week.
“Washington, DC is a great city, but it has been plagued by violent crime for too long,” Leavitt added.
