President Donald Trump announced Friday that he had decided to quickly fire several Kennedy Center board members, including the chairman, and fill the role himself.

He said a new committee will be announced soon, adding that it is “surprising” for the new chair to name himself.

“Last year, the Kennedy Center featured a drug show that was specifically targeted at our youth, which stops,” Trump wrote in the Post.

Tickets sold for nearly $100 each, required reservations and included bottomless mimosas.

In his post, Trump called the center “an American gem” and said it had to reflect the “brightest star” of the country on its stage.
“In my direction, we are going to make the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC great again,” the president wrote. “The best ones haven’t come yet for Kennedy Center!”
