Huitema was nominated for former President Joe Biden and confirmed that he would serve a five-year term by the Senate on November 14th with a vote of 50-46.
According to Oge’s website, the current acting director is Shelley Finlayson.
In a statement after being sworn in mid-December, Huitema said that Trump’s candidates could “have freed from obstacles caused by potential conflicts of interest and prevent them from being effective at work.” We aimed to ensure that this was the case.
Huitema’s statement also emphasized the importance of being as thorough and efficient as possible.
The White House did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comments regarding the removal of Huitema.
