(Hill) – President Trump announced Monday that he plans to sign an executive order ahead of the 2026 midterm elections to eliminate email-in voting and “critical controversial” voting machines.
In his statement on his true social platform, Trump relied on his longtime dare to mail-in voting, saying that other countries have abandoned the practice of “because large-scale voter fraud has been encountered.”
“I’m going to lead the move to get rid of mail-in votes. And while we’re working on it, it’s a very “inaccurate, very expensive, very controversial voting machine that costs ten times more than an accurate and sophisticated openwork.”
“We’re starting this effort, and Democrats are strongly opposed because they’re being fooled at levels never seen before by signing an executive order to bring integrity to the 2026 midterm elections,” he added.
For years, Trump has pushed unproven claims about a widespread voter fraud, including mail-in voting. He repeatedly described the 2020 election loss as “Rigged,” pointing to the expansion of mail-in voting allowed during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the US Election Assistance Commission (EAC) report released in June, nearly a third of the votes cast in the 2024 election were submitted by mail. Mail-in votes did not reach the 43% level of record seen during the four-year pandemic, but accounted for 30.3% of all votes cast in the election.
Efforts to dramatically overhaul the way federal elections are held have faced legal obstacles in recent months.
In June, the judge blocked some of Trump’s executive orders that were consumed by Election Day but later arrived, but attempted to prevent the state from counting mail-in ballots. The judge said the president has no authority to impose state election rules.
Trump appeared to be ahead of concerns about the lack of authority in his post Monday.
“Remember, states simply do not forget that the federal government is “delegate” in counting votes and counting. They must do what they have to tell them in the interests of our nation, as represented by the President of the United States,” Trump said.
The president has vowed to fight to prevent election integrity, accusing Democrats of “virally unequal without using this completely disproved email-in scam.”
“Elections never get honest with vote/voting emails, and everyone, especially Democrats, knows this,” Trump wrote. “Me and the Republicans will fight like hell to restore integrity and integrity to our election.”
“The email-in voting hoax using voting machines, which are a complete and complete disaster, must end now. Now!!! Remember, fair and honest elections, without strong and powerful borders, there is no country’s similarity.”
