President Donald Trump is scheduled to engage in many foreign policy discussions this week at this week’s NATO summit. Here, more than Ukraine will be the focus of conversations between foreign leaders.
A senior Trump official said on Sunday in the Wall Street Journal that the president is still planning to attend the summit in The Hague starting Wednesday. He leaves for the Netherlands on Tuesday and arrives late in the evening the same day.
This is a minor schedule change from the original planned departure date Monday, according to previous reports.

Trump was expected to attend a state dinner between foreign leaders on Tuesday evening, but it is unclear whether he will still be present due to arrival times later in the two days. The White House did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for additional information regarding the president’s schedule.
The schedule changes come after the president recently left Canada’s G7 Economic Summit and attended an ongoing situation in the Middle East on Saturday.

The summit between foreign leaders could include conversations about Trump’s recent decision to involve the US in Israeli campaign in the Middle East.
Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelenki is expected to be present as well, and the leader is expected to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine amid the ongoing war with Russia. However, the Ukraine crisis is not expected to be a central issue of concern, and global tensions in Iran are likely to attract the attention of the summit.
The leaders are also expected to discuss NATO Executive Director General Marc Latte’s proposal that each member states donate at least 5% of their gross domestic product to defence spending. The idea, framed as a Trump victory, was rejected by Spain, but other ideas have been troubled by the speed at which NATO members have been moved to increase their defense spending.

The summit ends on Wednesday, and Trump will then return to Washington. There is heavy security and protesters have already taken them to the streets in protest at upcoming summits.
