President Donald Trump’s 15th week in office includes day 100 of his return to the White House. He will be celebrating by holding a meeting in Michigan.
“President Trump is excited to return to Michigan’s Great State next Tuesday, where he will meet in Macomb County to celebrate his first 100 days!” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said he announced the rally in an X post.
President Trump’s campaigns in 2016, 2020 and 2024 all ended with rallying in Michigan’s battlefield states. This week’s visit to Macomb County followed his final 2024 campaign rally in Grand Rapids, where he joined the crowd shortly after midnight in the final hours before his victory over then-President Kamala Harris.
According to the Republican National Committee website, the event is being billed as a celebration of Trump’s “a legendary start to the presidency.” The rally will be held at Macomb Community College in Warren and will begin Tuesday at 6pm.

Trump has finished his 100th day in office since President Franklin D. Roosevelt, where more executive orders were signed in the same period than any other president. Trump has signed at least 137 executive orders from demolishing the Department of Education, establishing government efficiency and removing diversity, equity and comprehensive initiatives from the federal fabric following the Biden administration.

Trump returned from Rome on Saturday and attended Pope Francis’ funeral mass at the Vatican before joining First Lady Melania Trump. Trump met with Ukrainian President Vlodomyr Zelenskyy on his trip as the war between Russia and Ukraine is raging and he continues to negotiate a food stall for peace.
“There has been no reason for Putin to fire missiles in civilian regions, cities or towns over the past few days,” Trump wrote about the true society shortly after meeting Zelensky at the Vatican on Saturday.

“Maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just bashing me and I’m coming to think I have to deal with it differently through “banks” or “secondary sanctions.” Too many people are dying!!!” he added.
On the campaign trail, Trump has vowed to end the war between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours, but negotiations have proven difficult. Trump’s true social post on Saturday followed after Russia launched a missile strike in Kiev, which injured dozens and killed at least 12 people.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday and said next week will be “very important” whether or not the White House wants to continue working towards a peace deal. Rubio warned this month that the US could “move ahead” as it would try to secure deals between Russia and Ukraine without progress.
“I think this will be a very important week,” Rubio said on Sunday. “This week is going to be a really important week. Should we make a decision about whether this is an effort we want to remain involved in, or is it time to focus on other issues that are important, if not important, in some cases.
Trade talks are expected to move forward following the suspension of mutual tariffs

Trump set a 90-day suspension this month on mutually customized tariffs he imposed on dozens of countries, sparking a trade contract negotiation blitz as dozens of countries began knocking on the White House proverbs doors in hopes of attacking more favorable terms.
Trump says he made a “great call” with the South Korean leader.
The White House last week met and spoke with a handful of countries seeking deals, including South Korea. Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent said negotiations with Asian countries could progress quickly, and the two countries could reach a trade deal as early as this week.
“We held a very successful bilateral meeting with South Korea today,” Bescent said Thursday from the White House. “We may be moving faster than we thought. We’ll be speaking the terminology as soon as we reach an understanding agreement next week.”
“So the Koreans came early. They came in their A-game, and we’ll see if they follow that,” Bescent continued.
Congress reunites with an eye to passing the Trump-backed budget

Congress is expected to reunite Monday after a spring break, with Republican lawmakers expected to resume discussions over a budget plan that will advance Trump’s first-year agenda, including extending Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and cutting out funds for border security to millions.

Democrats from Capitol Hill protested Sunday before Republicans returned to the table for budget plans discussions. House minority leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Sen. New Jersey Cory Booker took action on Capitol on Sunday morning, and were caught between supporters in protest of the budget plan.

Trump has repeatedly urged Republican lawmakers to move on his first year agenda to pass the “big and beautiful” tax and spending package.
Trump offers an opening speech for the University of Alabama

Trump is scheduled to travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Thursday, where he will give his starter speech to University of Alabama alumni.
“I have agreed to give a start speech at two really great places, the University of Alabama and West Point. Stay tuned in time and date!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social last week.
Trump is expected to give a speech from the school’s Coleman Coliseum Arena on Thursday evening.
“The University of Alabama is honored that President Donald J. Trump has been selected as one of the universities he visits to give his spring start speech,” the university said in a statement this month.
Trump-funded American flags have been set up in the White House
Last week, Trump previewed his administration as he purchased and installed giant flag poles that feature glory on both the grass on the north and south of the White House. Trump told the media he would personally fund the flag, telling him he could be ready one day this week.

“We have a beautiful, almost 100 feet American flag on this side, with two other flags on the other side,” he told reporters Wednesday outside the White House, adding that “it’s going to be paid by Trump.”
“They needed flag poles for 200 years. That was something I often said, you know, they don’t have a flag pole in their own right. So we have one where you saw us, and we have another one on the mound. It’s going to be two beautiful poles.”

Trump added Wednesday that the flag will “arrival in about a week or so.” The American flag is currently flying only from the roof of the White House.
