President Donald Trump said he “loves” to run with former President Barack Obama in his recent hypothetical third run for the president.
“I know it’s hypothetical now, but is there any idea that if you’re allowed to run in the third term for any reason, then Democrats could try and run Barack Obama against you?” Fox News’ Peter Doucy asked Trump from his oval office on Monday evening.
“I love it,” Trump replied. “I want that… It’s a good thing. I want it. And no, people are asking me to run, and I won’t look into it, I don’t have a way for you to do it about it, but I don’t know about it.”
Trump said he has not considered potential legal measures to run for a third presidency, saying he has almost four years left in his term and is focused on doing a “great job.”

Amendments to Article 22 of the Constitution, ratified in 1951, prevented the President from serving more than one term. The amendment was ratified after President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected president in four terms.

Roosevelt passed away in his fourth term, and Vice President Harry Truman took over the presidency. FDR is the only president in the country’s history to be elected and served more than two terms. This is largely due to the political and economic environment at home and abroad, with the presidency unfolding during the Great Repression and the beginning of World War II.

Trump may have his third term in an interview with NBC News on Sunday, so he enjoys his job by saying he’s “not kidding” about doing another run in an oval office.

“There’s a way you can do that,” Trump said when asked about how he could run into the third term. NBC News floated a possible way during an interview where Vice President JD Vance could run for presidency, win, and hand the torch to Trump. The president said such a scenario is one of the ways he could use to provide services in the third term.
