President Donald Trump discovered a discrepancy between Ukrainian President Voldymi Zelenksy’s tone and body language during an oval office clash on Friday, the White House said. White House officials were also troubled by Zelensky’s lack of suits, said Trump’s press chief Caroline Levitt. President Donald Trump found Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelenksy’s tone and body language during an oval office meeting that blew loudly into debate on Friday, the White House told CNBC.
White House press chief Karoline Leavitt said there was nothing specific that Zelenskyy said in the oval office to Trump or Vice President JD Vance.
Lewitt said on Friday that Zelenki was invaded in the direction of President Putin from Russia three years ago – sitting in a way that showed lack of respect, folding his arms, rolling his eyes.
Leavitt also pointed out that Zelenskyy called Vance “JD” “JD” instead of “Vice President.”
This conflict came when Zelensky challenged the idea that Russia could be trusted to respect the terms of the peace agreement achieved through diplomacy. Vance accused Ukrainian leaders of being “disrespectful” by attempting to “litigate” the terms of such transactions in an oval office.
Levitt said White House officials were also frustrated that Zelensky had not filed a lawsuit during his visit Friday.
When CNBC said that top Trump adviser Elon Musk, who has recently appeared in the oval office next to the White House wearing a T-shirt and baseball cap, appears to be out of trouble, Leavitt said that’s not the case because the billionaire Tesla CEO is not the leader of a “sovereign state.”

On February 11, 2025, President Elon Musk and President Donald Trump were in the White House oval office.
Earlier Friday, Trump greeted Zelensky outside the White House, saying, “Yeah, you’re all dressed.”
During her oval office visit, conservative television news host Briangren – the boyfriend of Georgia’s right-wing Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene – asked Zelensky, “Would you like to wear a suit?”
“You’re at the highest level in the offices of this country and you refuse to wear a suit,” Glenn pushed. “Do you own a suit?”
Zelensky, who was wearing a black sweater with the Ukrainian national symbol, fired back, “After this war, I will wear a suit.”
“Maybe it’s like you,” Zelenkey told Glenn. “Maybe it’s better.”
At the oval office meeting, Vice President Vance argued that Zelensky should “thank” Trump for the aid the US gave to Ukraine to protect Russia.
Zelenskyy replied that he expressed his gratitude “even today” and “many times.”
At one point, Trump defended Russian President Putin Zelenskyy, saying, “Putin went through a lot of hell with me.”
“He went through a fake witch hunt with them, using Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia. Have you heard of that deal?” Trump asked, referring to a wide range of investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump was fired each by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2019 on charges of power abuse and obstruction of Congress on Zelenskyy in July 2019, where he pressured the Ukrainian president to open an investigation into the business deals between Hunter Biden and his father, former President Joe Biden.
Trump also conditioned the nearly $400 million release of US military and security aid to Ukraine on Zelenskkey, publicly releasing an investigation into the Bidens, and conditioned another investigation into “a trusted theory promoted by Russia, promoted by Russia, which he claims had interfered in the 2016 presidential election.”
After a Senate trial, Trump was acquitted.
