President Donald Trump has directed the Justice Department to fire all US lawyers left behind from the Biden administration.
In his true social platform post, Trump said the agency was “politicized more than ever.”
“Therefore, I directed the end of all remaining “Biden-era” US lawyers. We must “clean our homes” quickly and regain confidence,” Trump wrote. “The golden age of America must have a fair judicial system — it starts today!”
Terminating US lawyers from previous administrations is generally a standard procedure. Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Justice.

Last week, the White House sent a notice of fire to several U.S. lawyers who serve as the highest federal law enforcement officials in the assigned districts of the nation appointed by Biden.
Typically, the new administration will require that the US lawyers resign instead of issuing a letter of dismissal, Reuters reported.
A few days after taking office, Trump fired several career federal prosecutors involved in the case against him. Employees worked on special advisor Jack Smith to Trump on handling classified documents and efforts to overturn 2020 election losses.
Smith resigned before Trump took office.

During the 2024 presidential election, Trump accused the Biden administration of weaponizing the Justice Department to knock him out of the race. He campaigned on the promise to restore the agency.
“We’re experiencing this weaponization of government and trying to knock out someone’s political opponent,” Trump said in March 2024.
More recently, Trump ordered the DOJ to stop the lawsuit against New York City mayor Eric Adams, who faces corruption charges, urged to represent U.S. lawyer Daniel Sasson, and five other staff members gave the order. He urged him to resign rather than do it.

Sasson, an interim US lawyer for the Southern District of New York, accused the Department of Justice of agreeing to “Quid Pro Quo.”
