First on FOX: House GOP lawmakers issued laws Monday to commemorate President Donald Trump in US currency.
Rep. Brandon Gill’s R-TX told Fox News Digital that he would introduce a bill to post Trump’s likeness on a $100 memo after his current term.
“President Trump was able to spend his Golden Year golf and spend time with his family,” Gill said. “Instead, he takes a bullet for this country and is currently working overtime to secure our borders, correct uneven trade relations with the rest of the world, to make America first by making America independent again and ending useless foreign aid.”

He said replacing Benjamin Franklin with Trump with a $100 bill is “a small way to honor all of those four years.”
If passed, his bill would direct the Treasury Secretary to announce a “preliminary design” of the bill by the end of 2026, and aimed to cycle through the memos in 2029.

Gill, the first-term House Republican class president, has been an outspoken Trump supporter since coming to Congress earlier this year.
His law comes after Rep. Joe Wilson put Trump’s face on a new $250 note last week after he made a similar push by Rs.C. The bill will support conservatives from other three homes.
However, changing faces with US currency is not an easy task. The last time it ended was in 1929, when Andrew Jackson replaced Grover Cleveland with a $20 memo.

The Obama administration’s plan to replace Jackson’s face with Harriet Tubman’s face never came to fruition after Trump took office for his first term.
The Biden administration resumed efforts in 2021, but was not completed.
Current US laws also need to be changed to ensure that living people are portrayed in currency.
