President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on Georgia’s former lieutenant colonel Jeff Duncan swapping political parties after the state’s GOP expelled him for disloyalty to the party earlier this year.
Duncan, a public critic of the president in recent years, wrote the operation in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Tuesday, stating that he joined the Democrats after serving as lieutenant governor of Georgia as a Republican from 2019 to 2023.
Trump didn’t write words in a true social post early Friday morning.
“Lt. Col. Jeff Duncan, former lieutenant governor of Georgia, is a complete loser. He couldn’t do anything he did. He had no complaints. We no longer wanted him to be a Republican, so he was told he became a Democrat,” Trump wrote. “Good Riddance Jeff. I don’t even have a chance!!”

Trump’s recent post about Duncan is not the only time he expressed disgust towards the banished Republicans.
On August 3, 2024, Trump called out Duncan. Duncan described it as “ass,” knocking the former state leader from the Georgia GOP in one of three posts of the day.
“He was totally lightweight and went to work on a low paycheck for fake news CNN. His only function is to knock on Donald J. Trump,” writes Trump. “Georgia should throw this ‘butt’ out of the party. He’s not a single-minded, and no one respects him except for your lightweight governor, Brian Kemp.

Duncan wrote in his Op-Ed that before Trump’s response to his loss in the 2020 presidential election and Trump’s response to the events of January 6, 2021, his decision to become a Democrat began brewing. He said policy disagreements also influenced swap decisions.
“There are no dates in the sand calendar or lines that refer to the exact moment when my political mind changed, but I have it,” he continued. “My decision was focused on my daily struggle to love my neighbors as a Republican.”
He was ousted from the Georgia Republicans in January after endorsing former President Joe Biden during his 2024 reelection campaign and former vice president Kamala Harris when Biden dropped out.

CNN contributor Duncan was told by Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McConne to stop using Republican qualifications with the public and media appearances following his party’s ouster.
The Georgia GOP further said that Duncan will use the Republican title to “attack the Republicans” in his role at CNN.
