President Donald Trump draws laughs from the media when a reporter asks him to define what a woman is. Trump was speaking at a press conference after longtime member of his team, Alina Haba, was sworn in as a US lawyer for New Jersey.
A reporter who asked the question first said Trump had done “a lot for women.” Previously, he cited women who played a powerful role in the Trump administration. He then said, “It seemed Democrats were struggling to answer this question, so I want to ask you, what are women and why is it important for us to understand the difference between men and women?”
The room quickly erupted with laughter as Trump said he could answer the question “easy.”
“Women are someone and can have babies under certain circumstances. She has equality. Women are far more clever than men, and I’ve always found them. Women are people who don’t even give men a chance to succeed,” Trump said.
With reporters in the room laughing, Trump took the opportunity to seriously steer the questions and address the issue of trans athletes playing in women’s sports.

“And women are often treated very badly. I think what happens in this crazy thing is that men can play in women’s sports, this crazy issue is ridiculously, very unfair to women, very unfair to women,” Trump said, changing the tone of the press conference.
Trump is fighting to keep trans athletes in women’s sports, referring to Democrats and without naming who it is. The president joked that he hopes Democrats continue to insist on including trans athletes in women’s sports because they “never win another election.”

The Trump administration is taking swift action in its fight against gender ideology. Trump has signed an order specifically addressing the issue of transathlete in women’s sports. The “steer men away from women’s sports” order prohibits educational institutions receiving federal funds from allowing trans athletes to compete with women.
Additionally, Trump has signed an executive order entitled “Protecting women from gender ideological extremism and restoring biological truths to the federal government.” The order has made the US government an official policy that it recognizes only two genders: male and female.
