President Donald Trump suggested he would be willing to arrest California Gov. Gavin Newsom if his administration thwarted ice operations amid the riots in Los Angeles on Monday.
Trump issued a brief exchange with reporters after disembarking from Marines outside the White House. Fox News White House correspondent Peter Dousey asked Trump if he should take Newsom on his dare to arrest him.
“He’s boldly coming and arresting Tom Homan. Should he do that?” Doucy asked.
“I’ll do that, I was Tom,” Trump replied. “I think it’s great. Gavin likes advertising. But I think it’s great. He did a terrible job. I like Gavin Newsom. He’s a good guy, but he’s grossly incompetent. Everyone knows.”

Trump has stated his belief that many of the Los Angeles mobs and protesters are professional agitators rather than real protesters.

“The people causing the problem are professional agitators. They are rebels. They are bad people. They should be in prison,” Trump said.
Newsom responded quickly to Trump’s comments in a social media post.
“The US President just asked for the arrest of the sitting governor,” Newsmom wrote. “This is the day I wanted to never see in America. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican.
Homan told “Fox & Friends” on Monday that while he told the NBC reporter “no one crossed the law,” there was no discussion about arresting Newsom at the time.
“What we discussed was for the protesters who crossed the line… You can protest, you can get the right to your first amendment… But when you cross that line, you either put your hands on the ice officers, you destroy property, you prevent law enforcement, or you knowingly embrace and hide illegal aliens… It’s a crime, and the Trump administration said it.
“Then the reporters asked me. Well, could Governor Newsom or Mayor Bass be arrested? “Well, no one crosses the law. If they crossed the line and committed a crime, they absolutely could, so there was no discussion about arresting Newsom.”

Homan denounced the Blue State’s response to the Trump administration’s immigrant attacks that rocked Los Angeles over the weekend, with some protesters throwing projectiles at law enforcement and torching American flags and cars.
