President Donald Trump has said sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of “stolen” Virginia Giuffre from his Mar Lago club.
As Trump was talking to reporters Tuesday, he was asked about the comments he made about Epstein dropping out after he took employees out of his business over the weekend.
“He took people who were working for me, and I told him, ‘Don’t do that anymore.'” Trump said. Reporters said he banned Epstein from María Lago.
“I said, ‘From here we’ll stay in hell,'” he said.
When pressed to see if any of the stolen employees were young women, Trump replied that many of them worked at the club’s spa.
“The answer is, they were at the spa,” he said. “I told him, I said, ‘Listen, we don’t want you to take our people, whether it’s a spa or not.’ …and he was fine.
Trump was then specifically asked if Epstein had stolen the stolen Giuffre. Giuffre, who died of suicide in April, said he met Epstein Associate Ghislaine Maxwell while working at Mar-a-Lago as a teenager.
“I think she worked at the spa,” Trump said. “I think so. I think it was one of the people. He stole her. By the way, she wasn’t complaining about us.
White House communications director Stephen Chan said in a statement last week that Trump had indicted Epstein from Mar Arago “to be a creep.”
Epstein died of suicide in a New York prison in 2019, awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
Trump and his administration have faced increasing pressure in recent weeks to release more files related to Epstein from within his MAGA base. The president, who previously shared a conspiracy theory about Epstein, tried to curb scrutiny by saying the story was “boring” and denounced supporters who focused on the issue.
