As Republicans searched for a way to extend President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cut, some Republicans involved in the process came to mind that the nation’s best workers could see tax cuts to lead to low ear cuts.
On his side, the president is sending signals that he tends to agree with.
“You know, they go round and say, ‘Oh, this is so bad.’ What you’re doing is to make middle-income people more and save the parentheses of lower incomes even more,” Trump told reporters, asking Republicans who oppose tax hikes for wealthy people what their reaction would be.
“I want to be able to give people with lower brackets a big break by giving them some of the things I have,” the president added.

He also dismissed the move as merely “good politics,” and rejected the comparisons that some political experts made to one Republican president, President George H.W. Bush, and after his 1988 election victory, the breaking of his promise to Republicans that “there are no new taxes” denounced Bush’s failed reelection efforts.
“Read my lips: There are no new taxes,” Bush Sr. said in his acceptance speech at the 1988 Republican National Convention. Then, facing a balloon deficit, Bush Senior cut his deal with Democrats, which ultimately raised taxes.
“Don’t do that because of the fact that many people have Bush’s statement, ‘Read my lips.’ But he lost because of Ross Perro, and he didn’t lose because of that statement,” Trump said. “I think it’s actually a good politics to do it in a place where richer people give up. It’s very small – that’s kind of a point, but they give up and benefit low-income people.”

In a post about his true social platform, Trump gave a slightly more careful tone on Friday about concerns that his willingness to increase taxes to the best earners could spell trouble in power like Bush Senior.
He complained that Democrats will repeatedly point out him in an effort to distrust him. But Trump argued that Elder Bush lost on more than just a tax promise, adding that Republicans should probably not increase their taxes on the wealthy, but that if they don’t, they’ll be fine.

“The issue of “small” tax increases on the rich that I and everyone else would appeal to help lower-income workers is said to have been a fundamental left Democrat madman screaming, “Read My Lips,” and a legendary quote by George Bush, said to have cost him.
“No, Ross Perro sacrificed the election to him! Either way, Republicans probably shouldn’t do that, but if that’s the case, I’ll be fine!!”
