First on FOX: President Donald Trump is expected to sign a memo to suspend security clearance for employees at the Top DC-based law firm that helped investigate former special advisor Jack Smith Masu.
The memo, first reported by Fox News, outlines the administration’s drastic plan to suspend security clearance for all lawyer members involved in Jack Miss’ double special advisor investigation into Trump, according to White. House confirmed.
This is the latest in a series of punitive actions Trump took to strip his political and legal enemies of power.
The memo orders the federal government to consider and terminate the involvement of Covington & Burling of law firms as permitted by the law, and to determine the interests of American citizens and the funding decision to ensure that they secure them. A detailed evaluation will be conducted. This management priority, as detailed in the Executive Order.

The subject is Peter Koski, former deputy chief of the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section. Covington vice-chairman Lanny Bruer, who helped lead the Justice Department’s criminal division under then President Barack Obama, is also expected to be straight in the crosshairs of the review. Breuer, on his side, recruited Smith in 2010, heading the Public Integrity Section of DOJ.
The two made headlines earlier this month after reporting that politics had offered Jack Smith free legal services before resigning from the Justice Department last month.
The White House said Tuesday that the company offered Smith $140,000 with free legal services.
When the government revoked the government’s permission from top Justice Department officials, Trump said, “It is clear that the federal government will no longer tolerate abuse of power by partisan actors who exploit their positions for political interests. I’m sending a message.”
“The federal government will consider and terminate the involvement to the maximum extent permitted by the Covington & Burling LLP law by the US,” the memo said.
Smith examined then-General Merrick Garland in 2022 to investigate Trump and his allies’ efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and wrote a categorized document at a Florida residence after leaving the White House. We investigated efforts to maintain it.
He had previously indicted Trump in DC on charges stemming from his suspicious efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
Smith also brought about a federal accusation against Florida Trump for handling classified documents after leaving the White House.
Both cases were withdrawn after Trump’s election, in line with a longtime Justice Department memo that states that investigating the sitting president for federal criminal charges is against DOJ’s policies.

The memo says it is a violation of the separation of the doctrine of power to do so. They also cited the Supreme Court’s decision in July to expand President Sitting’s immunity standards.
Covington & Burling LLP did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
