President Trump said on Friday he liked the idea that the US would join the British Commonwealth after reports came out claiming that Charles III would make the offer.
“I love King Charles,” leads to an article that said while writing on Friday morning’s Truth Social Morning, the monarch secretly offered US associate members during Trump’s second state visit to England. “That’s good for me!”
Trump also reposted the same report late Saturday morning about his offer to join the King’s “secret” membership.
Fox News Digital reached the White House for comment.

Founded in 1926, the British Commonwealth consists of 56 countries, including Australia and Canada, most of which were originally British colonies. The monarch was the head of the Federation, and its maintenance was Queen Elizabeth II’s primary priority.
Membership is voluntary.
The United States was part of the British Empire before gaining independence after the revolution.
India was the first country to decide to stay within the Union after gaining independence in 1947.

Trump had a friendly relationship with the late Queen and always appreciated her.
“I got to know her well, and you know, I found her in her ’90s and she was amazing,” Trump told Fox News’ Mark Levin in 2023.
Trump also praised Charles and Prince William, the heir to the throne.

The president is scheduled to meet King Charles during his rare second state visit later this year. He met with the late Queen and Charles during his first state visit in 2019.
According to Daily Mail, Commonwealth Membership was first floating during Trump’s first term, this time to ease tensions between the US and Canada as the country trades on tariff threats.

“This is being discussed at the highest level,” a member of the Royal Federation Society told the Daily Mail. “It will be a great move that represents a close relationship between the UK and the US
“Donald Trump loves Britain and has great respect for the royal family, so he believes he will see this advantage. I hope that associate membership will continue, and will continue to become even more important as a global organization.”

Late last month, British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer presented Trump with Charles’ invitation to his second state visit while the two politicians met in an oval office.
“I think it just symbolizes the strength of the relationship between us. It’s a very special letter. I think our last visit to the state was a huge success,” Starmer said. “The King’s Jehovah wants to make this even better than that.”

Trump said, “The answer is yes. On behalf of our wonderful First Lady Melania and me, the answer is yes. We are there and look forward to honouring the king and truly honouring your country. Your country is a wonderful country.”

Trump described Charles as “beautiful” and “a wonderful man.”
“I actually got to know him very well, the first semester, and now the second term,” he added.
