President Trump and counterprotetter supporters gathered in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills on Sunday in a small but raucous conflict that included performances from Pro Trump’s punk rock star and comments from disgraced former lawmakers.
At a rally aimed at encouraging voters to leave the Democrats, former Florida Rep. Matt Getz described the Republicans as “patriotic and joyful” while describing the opposition as “angry and lonely.”
“They are the moves that allowed us to burn this great state,” Goetz said. “They are moves that turned what was paradise into homelessness and illegal aliens.”
Getz, who is currently hosting a political news show in San Diego, has stepped down from his Congressional seat after Trump nominated him as the National Attorney General. The nomination sparked controversy as Gaetz was previously under investigation by the Department of Justice regarding child sex trafficking allegations. After a long-term investigation, the prosecutors did not file a request.

Gaetz ultimately retracted himself in consideration of the Attorney General’s Attorney General. In December, the House Ethics Committee reported that while serving in Congress, he found evidence that he abused drugs and sexually paid him.
His scandalous history was mentioned on Larry’s Sunday, where he beckoned those unhappy with the left to join Republicans.
“If you came by our side,” he told hundreds of attendees, “We welcome you in a patriotic embrace.”
Although sometimes nervous, the event, known as the “American Restoration Tour,” was almost peaceful, with the exception of small battles and arrests. The rally took place at Beverly Gardens Park, a lush green space running parallel to Santa Monica Boulevard, and was a frequent demonstration site in support of Trump. While many of the wealthy Westsides distort liberals, Beverly Hills is home to a neighborhood that has repeatedly voted for Trump.
Shiva Bagheri, organizer of the Pro Trump gathering in 2020, told the crowd that the effects of “radical Islam” fled Iran because they fled the nation. Bagheri said she voted for President Obama, but “the bubble was popped.”
A general thread for the almost two-hour meeting was speakers such as Bagelli.
Actress Natalie Baysner, who voted for Hillary Clinton and Obama, said the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown has rethinked her political views. Baysner said that she lost two jobs due to the closure and her grandmother died alone, but at the same time, protesters urged by George Floyd’s death could gather in large numbers. When she raised such concerns, Baysner said she was called racist and selfish.
“These people refused to admit that I might have an honest reason to oppose them. There was no conversation,” she said. “That’s why I left the Democrats because for the first time in my life I have directly linked my suffering to Democratic policy.”

As diners along Santa Monica Boulevard blanched the patio and filmed the drag queen performances, dozens of pro-Trump Marchers chanted “Leave from hatred.”

A small number of opponents gathered nearby and said, “No kkk! Fascist America!
A West Hollywood resident who went under the name Annie Jump had loud speakers and pink bandanna. She called groups who came to the West Hollywood community “to attack queers” “biblical.”
“Everyone who doesn’t like fascists wants them from town,” Annie Jump said.
However, the LGBTQ+ community is not monolithic in its political views.
Hunter Gibson, a 29-year-old gay man, told The Times that he felt “if you don’t think of a specific way, you’re being banished” in places like West Hollywood. The conservative group was more open to dialogue, he said.
At the meeting, several speakers focused on the transgender community. After the event, Brandon Straka, gay and founder of the #Walkaway campaign behind Sunday’s event, expressed concerns about the transition by minors.

Straca was pardoned by Trump in January on January 6, 2021 after being convicted of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for participating in a riot at the U.S. Capitol.
“I think you can become pro-transgender, and I also recognize that there is a culture of so much tolerant that it is turning people into permanent victims, especially those who are not actually transgender,” he said in an interview.
Cherie Currie, former lead singer of Runaways, sang “Cherry Bomb” at the rally.
The 1976 song was a destructive celebration of female sexuality, and a patriarchal rejection by a band of women. Since then, Curry has become a gay supporter of the groomer movement.
