First Fox: House lawmakers have appointed President Donald Trump to the Nobel Peace Prize after brokering a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.
Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) wrote to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, declaring that he had a “extraordinary historical role” to prevent Trump from ending the armed conflict between Israel and Iran and acquiring the most lethal weapons on the world’s largest nationally sponsored planet.
Trump declared that the “12 Days War” ended late Monday afternoon and ended with a ceasefire intended to take effect overnight on Tuesday.
It ended just over a week after Israel first launched its first attack on Iran, claiming that Tehran is dangerously close to obtaining nuclear weapons.

The two countries then traded rocket fires the following day, and over the weekend the US launched its own airstrikes at three major Iranian nuclear facilities.
Iran fired a rocket at a US Air Force Base in Qatar on Monday, noting US and Qatar officials in advance. No injuries were reported in the attack.
“President Trump’s influence helped him build a swift agreement that many believe is impossible. President Trump also took bold and decisive action to halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions and ensure that the world’s largest national sponsors cannot acquire nuclear weapons,” Carter wrote in his letter.
He said that Trump’s leadership through the Trump crisis “exemplifies the very ideals that the Nobel Peace Prize seeks to recognize, such as the pursuit of peace, prevention of war, and advances in international harmony.

“President Trump demonstrated both and rarely glimpses of hope in the world. For these reasons, I have given this nomination with respect to Donald J. Trump, the 47th President of the United States, to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize,” Carter concluded.
It’s not the first time Trump has been nominated for an award, but he hasn’t won yet.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) tapped Trump for the award earlier this year, claiming that his 2024 election victory had a “surprisingly effective effect” on world peace.
According to the Nobel Prize website, there have been 338 nominees who have been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize so far.
Carter, running for the Senate in Georgia, has introduced several notable legislation in support of Trump this year, many of which are considered primarily symbolic.
Georgia Republicans introduced legislation renaming Greenland “Red, White and Blueland” after Trump expressed interest in robbing the territory. He also wrote a bill aimed at having Trump sell a federal building in California, named after former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

However, as of Tuesday morning, bittersweet peace appears to be at risk of fraying when it comes to conflict in the Middle East.
Carter’s nomination for Trump comes shortly after Israel accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement.
