President Donald Trump vowed to “save New York City” from the mayor’s hopeful Zoran Mamdani.
Trump made a statement from his true social account, blasting out the Democratic candidate for mayor and claiming he had the power to step in and take action if he chose.
“As the US president, I have no intention of letting this communist madman destroy New York,” Trump wrote. “Don’t worry, I hold all the levers and have all the cards. I’ll save New York City and make it ‘hot’ and ‘great’ again, like I did in America! ”
This post was Trump’s latest salvo against Mamdani. Mamdani faced intense criticism from conservatives and some Democrats and refused to condemn rhetoric related to terrorism.

President Trump says Zoran Mamdani is a “communist madman” who “crushs” New York City if elected mayor.
Mamdani’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Trump previously threatened to withdraw federal funds from the city in an interview with Fox News that said, “We can tell you this. Anyone who has to act on his own is having to do so, the federal government is financially very tough.”
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Monday that if Mamdani is elected mayor, he would “crush” New York City.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doucy asked Levitt about his recent call for Mamdani to be deported.
“I’ve never heard him say it. I’ve never heard him call it. But he certainly doesn’t want this individual to be elected. I was telling him about it. [Mamdani’s] The radical policy that completely crushes New York City is clearly a city the President cherishes close to his heart,” replied Levitt.

Leavitt went on to say that Trump is willing to work with Mamdani if elected, but she predicted that the relationship would be difficult.
“The president always wants to work with everyone. He works with Democrats, Democrats governors around the country. And he said he will work with people on the far left. He works with Republicans. He works in the middle.
“But who holds these values, literally communists, and who condemn all the values that make this country great certainly condemn all the values that make this country great: common sense, law and order, low taxes, working hard, earning your sustaining in this country. He opposes all of that.
