Republican California Sen. Bill Essayri pledges to “dismantle” his state’s status as a popular sanctuary for illegal immigration after President Donald Trump tapped him this week to lead the nation’s largest team of federal district courts prosecutors by population.
“I’m excited to get to work and implement their vision and their mission in the Department of Justice,” the essayri told Fox News Digital in a telephone interview. “I think the first order of business is to reassure people and revive trust in the Department of Justice. Over the last few years it has been weaponized and politicized, and the President has made it clear that we will restore trust in law enforcement and the Department of Justice.”
Essaylie, a lightning bolt in California’s legislative politics, often harboring supers with California’s government’s government, said his commitment was to “restore law and order” in his new post as a US lawyer for the Central District of California. “We’re going to go back to work,” he said. “We’ll chase these transnational organizations that the President has designated as terrorist organizations.”

“We’re going to chase criminally illegal immigrants,” the essayri continued.
The essays have confronted a potential showdown with Newsom, who “pushed the state to Trump” with a $50 million legal fund to protect illegal immigration, vowing to “dismantle the status of the sanctuary state we enjoyed here in California.”
“None of this funding will be used to support immigration-related services for criminals,” Brandon Richards, spokesman for Newsom’s Office, told Fox News Digital in a previous statement.
Additionally, Essayli, as a US lawyer, said his firm would tackle public corruption, saying, “I don’t think we had any robust public corruption cases or investigations. It’s been a long time late.”
The essay laughed when asked if Newsom had reached out to him since his appointment.

“No,” he said. “We won’t talk.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Newsom’s Office for comment, but did not receive a reply by the time of publication.
The essays have faced head-on with Newsom’s administration throughout their Republican career in the state, criticizing the state for wildfire management, public safety, compensation, and the handling of parental rights, especially at schools. Over the past few years, it has not been uncommon to see essays expressing opposition to a policy that bans parents’ notifications of children’s gender identity.
When asked how to eliminate protections in sanctuary states of illegal immigration, the essay replied that he would work “hold hand” with Trump Department and Attorney General Pam Bondy.
“We’re going to put together a plan,” he said. “It’s not something I’m ready to debate or signal at this point, but I guarantee something will happen.

Hours before he became the next top federal prosecutor in the district, including Los Angeles County, the essay introduced Congressional Bill 844, which sought to reverse existing California laws that allowed biological men to participate in women’s and women’s sports teams that correspond to gender identity. However, a Congressional Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports and Tourism rejected AB 844 along the party line on Tuesday.
The essay called the trans girls’ tolerance in girls’ sports at a committee hearing “not just a bad policy, but a serious violation of Title IX, risking losing California schools billions with federal funds.” “We believe that through this legislative or court process, California will comply with Title IX.”
He resigned from his post as a lawmaker that night to embrace the federal position.

In a news release, the U.S. law firm said the essays born to two Lebanese immigrants were sworn in to the nation’s largest law firm outside of Washington, D.C. on Wednesday morning. Staffed with more than 250 lawyers, the office serves approximately 20 million residents across the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
Essayli previously founded the law firm Essayli & Brown LLP in 2019 and worked as a federal prosecutor in her Los Angeles and Riverside offices from 2014 to 2018. During his time as a US lawyer, Essayri handled famous cases, including the 2015 Sun Bernardi No Terrorist Attack and important opioid prescription cases. Prior to his federal role, he was the Associate District Attorney for Riverside County and worked as an associate attorney for Paul Hastings LLP.
Essayli’s appointment to US lawyer requires a Senate confirmation, but the president has the authority to tentatively appoint someone before confirming the Senate.
