WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump’s military parade, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US Army, is scheduled to begin on Saturday at 6:30pm in the country’s capital, but the patriotic event is expected to face protests and dark weather.
The parade begins near the Lincoln Memorial and closes near the Washington memorial at about 9:30pm, and the parade will appear at Flag Day and Trump’s 79th birthday, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US military, which was established one year before the Declaration of Independence.
The patriotic event is part of Trump’s “Task Force 250,” established in January by an executive order and coordination plan to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence on July 4, 2026.
But the parade comes as Israel launched a preemptive strike Thursday evening in Los Angeles, as riots and protests continued in Los Angeles over the Trump administration’s immigration efforts to expel millions of illegal aliens who flooded the country under the Biden administration, and Israeli launched a preemptive strike on Iran.
The parade also predicts thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon and is expected to face stormy weather as rain is expected in the evening.

Protests in response to the military parade in Los Angeles and the recent ice attacks are expected to unfold in cities across the country. In Washington, visitors and locals can expect a “fair march” in downtown DC, Garbage Fascism protest, and a “democratic picnic” in Forturino Park.
“King” protesters are not protested by the “King” in DC on Saturday, but are expected to gather in cities across the country to protest what they say is that Trump, who leads the country like “King,” will lead the country. Instead, such protests take place in nearby towns and cities, such as Alexandria and Virginia cities in Arlington.

Protesters hope to converge on DC ahead of Trump’s military parade.
When asked about the “king” protest at the White House Thursday’s bill signing event, Trump urged him to stop, saying he “doesn’t feel like a king.”

“I don’t feel like a king,” Trump replied. “I have to go through hell to get what is approved. The king will say, ‘I’m not going to get this.’ The king would have never even spoken to California. “No, we are not kings. We are not kings.”
Trump previously said potential violent protesters targeting the parade would be filled with “very heavy forces.”
Trump warns that potential protesters at his military parade will “meet with a very large force.”

“If they come out, if there’s a protest, they’ll meet with such a great deal,” Trump told reporters Tuesday. “I haven’t even heard of the protest, but those who hate our country… they will meet with a very heavy force.”
The parade is celebrated by the administration as the “largest” military parade in American history.
“We love the military and take great pride in honoring fighter jets,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegses said in a May Fox News statement. “To celebrate 250 years of the US Army, we cast the largest and most beautiful military parade in our country’s history.”
“The President is planning a historic celebration of the Army’s 250th birthday, honoring a generation of selfless Americans who put everything at risk for our freedom,” Vince Haley, director of the White House’s National Policy Council, commented on Fox Digital in May, previewing the parade.
“Just 250 years ago, the first American patriots died due to the cause of independence. We owed freedom to them and to all the lawyers who have given our country life in the second centuries ever since.”

The parade comes after Israel launched its preemptive strike on Thursday evening, months after Israel raised concerns that it had been moving forward with its nuclear programme. The strike targeted Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure and killed at least four Iranian military leaders.
Iran says the strike is a “declaration of war.”
“Two months ago, I gave Iran the ultimate of 60 days to “take a trade.” They should have done it! Today is the 61st day. I told them what to do. Trump posted on Truth Social on Friday before meeting with his National Security Council to discuss the strike.
