After President Donald Trump turned the National Guard into the federal government for the first time in 60 years, lawmakers responsible for Los Angeles’ chaos have split.

The protests that rejected the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in downtown Los Angeles last weekend ordered the city to have national guards and Marines there a few days after escalating anti-ice protests and riots.

R-Colo. “The riots we’re seeing in LA are direct reflection,” Rep. Lauren Beaubert told Fox News Digital, R-Colo.

Republicans largely condemned Los Angeles violence as Democrats accused the Trump administration of tensions. California Gov. Gavin Newsom, considered the 2028 presidential candidate, led Democrats’ rejection of the Trump administration’s actions in LA.

“We need to be accountable to the administration that has decided to deliberately sort out this mess,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is rumoured to have the president’s ambitions in 2028, told Fox News Digital.

Newsom files a move to stop an emergency motion to use the military to “block” the army.

“The Trump administration owns it,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “Trump administration, Donald Trump and [White House advisor] Stephen Miller knows that when he violently attacks primary schools, Home Depot and starts to tear children from their arms, he creates and blows away social disruption. ”

“This administration is intentionally creating chaos,” she said.

D-Caliph Sen. Alex Padilla added fuel to the Democrat’s fire when he was forced to remove and handcuffed by authorities after trying to stand up to Homeland Security (DHS) secretary Christie Noem at a LA press conference. Republicans once again denounced Padilla, but Democrats were furious at the Trump administration.

Rep. Nancy Mace, Rs.C., told Fox News Digital that the Democratic anti-ice rhetoric is “dangerous.”

“I’m going to kill someone,” Mace said.

It was during Alabama’s civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965 when the US President last used federal authorities to deploy the National Guard without the governor’s request.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. , the only Palestinian American in Congress, who was criticized last year for criticism of US policies regarding the war in Gaza, said the protests were not “anti-ice.”

“It’s not anti-ice, it’s a constitutional right, a production process, and I’m sure people are confident that they are following the law,” Tlaib told Fox News Digital, saying, “The immigrant community has said since 2003 that ICE has been fraudulent and has not followed people’s constitutional rights.”

A federal judge on Thursday ruled that Trump must return control of the California State Guard to Newsom, but the appeals court quickly reversed the decision.

The White House said the order “puts our brave federal officials at risk.”

“The district court has no authority to take away the president’s authority as president’s commander. The president has exercised his legitimate authority to mobilize the National Guard to protect Gavin Newsom’s lawless Los Angeles federal buildings and staff,” said White House spokesman Anna Kelly.

Jasmine Baehr of Fox News Digital contributed to this report.
