Trump’s official blast Washington Post reports on Doge firing for “fake news”

Andrea Lucas, acting chairman of the Trump administration’s Equal Employment Opportunity Committee (EEOC), has blown up the Washington Post and reporter Jeff Stein when spreading “fake news” that cuts 90% of DOGE’s EEOC workforce.

Lucas explained that Stein, the Washington Post’s chief economics reporter, is confusing federal agencies that have nothing to do with each other.

The Post reported that “offices within the labor sector that enforce the Equal Employment Opportunity Act” are planning to cut the workforce by 90%. The article states that the Department of Labor is planning to cut down Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP) offices from over 50 offices, nearly 500 employees, four offices and 50 employees.

Stein also posted to X that in a “major changes” planned by Elon Musk’s Doge, the Labor Bureau was screaming “Eeoc Office *90% *.”

President Donald Trump will speak on January 20, 2025, in Washington, DC (Getty, EEOC) after being pledged at the inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.

After Lucas called the error for X, Stein posted another message. “To be clear, the offices I refer to above are those within the labor sector that enforces the civil rights laws of workers.”

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Lucas said the post’s reporting “weaks” the EEOC’s ability to enforce the law by misleading the public.

“We pushed back with a correction…and Wapo [Washington Post] “Yeah, I was talking about OFCCP,” he retweeted. That’s what he should have done if he bothered us getting straight back,” she said.

“The Ministry of Labor may be thinking of a major reduction in OFCCP. I don’t know. We are completely separate from OFCCP.”

Lucas said the potential reductions to the labour department by DOGE and OFCCP are “completely different to the work that EEOC does.”

Lucas said the EEOC is “fully operational and continues to focus on lasers in the fight against discrimination.”

Lucas said the EEOC is “completely compliant.”[ing] The president’s executive order calls for equal civil rights enforcement. ”

After a four-year Biden administration using federal agencies to advance DEI, Lucas directed the EEOC to warn US employers to prioritize enforcement of legal and financial consequences against “anti-American bias” against employed workers.

“Discriminatory employers need to be aware that the EEOC is not sleeping,” she said. “This kind of fake news can actually make the water muddy and make it unclear for workers that this government watchdog is ready to protect them from illegal discrimination, including DEI-related discrimination.”

Regarding Doge, Lucas said, “I am fully supportive of the President’s mission to ensure government efficiency and the Doge’s mission.”

But she is sure that EEOC will stay here.

“We work really hard to ensure that we have the most productive workforce possible and we want our agencies to be a truly equal and efficient workforce,” Lucas said. “However, we believe that we play an important role because our jurisdiction and mission are directly related to the civil rights executive order.

“So we are law enforcement agencies and we’re here to enforce them and enforce the law.”
