As immigration customs continue to operate across the US, debate over President Donald Trump’s proposal for a “temporary pass” to some farmers and hospitality industry people is raging.

While touring “Alligator Alcatraz” in Florida, the president, along with Gov. Ron DeSantis and Secretary of Homeland Security, Christa Noem, detailed his proposal.

“We have a lot of cases where ice enters the farm. These have been working for 10-15 years. There’s no problem. The farmers know them. It’s called the responsibility of the farmers, or the responsibility of the owner. They’ll be heavily responsible for these people. And they know these people.

Trump urges a “temporary pass” from cracking down on immigration in major industries: “I take good care of our farmers.”

“We’re going to put people accountable. We have a system of signing up for them so they don’t have to go. They can be legally here and they can pay taxes. They don’t get citizenship, but they’re getting other things.

While some Republicans believe the main focus should be only on people with a criminal history, others have criticised the president’s proposal.

“This is a bad idea. The law should not be enforced selectively as politically connected employers are fleeing by hiring illegal workers,” Jessica M. Vaughn, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, told Fox News Digital in an email.

“Farm employers have access to work visa programs that allow them to hire an unlimited number of foreign workers as long as they pay certain wages and provide other benefits. They should not obtain a pass for non-crude behavior before. Hotel employers can acquire seasonal workers.

In California, six state-level Republican lawmakers will instruct the president to “instruct ICE and DHS to concentrate enforcement efforts on criminal immigrants, and if possible, sign to avoid drastic attacks that will cause fear and disruption to the workplace,” KCRA reported.

However, Republican state Sen. Melissa Melendez criticized X’s posting stance on the letter.

“So, if you understand this correctly, should we look at the opposite approach to illegal immigration, as long as it’s in the construction, hotel or restaurant industry? This is far beyond the unfortunate.

The White House stressed that overall deportation efforts were a matter of prioritization, as it was a president’s important commitment on the campaign trail.

“The White House works closely with the Department of Agriculture and Homeland Security when it comes to workplace enforcement. Of course, the president’s focus and this administration’s focus is to eliminate public safety threats from the streets and to deport many illegal criminals, especially violent criminals.

Additionally, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital that the president is “still committed to implementing the largest massive deportation operation in history by removing dangerous, violent, criminally illegal aliens from American communities and targeting sanctuaries that provide safe ports for criminal illegals.”

The president said, “Changes are coming!” For immigration enforcement in the agriculture and hospitality sector at the Truth Social Post on June 12, border area Tom Homan said workplace enforcement was “based on a prioritized basis for farms and even hotels,” but according to Axios on June 19, “criminals will come first.”

Trump further explained the concept of “Sunday Morning Futures” this week, saying, “I say I’m the strongest immigrant man of all time, but I’m also the strongest farmer man of all time.”

Fox News Digital reached out to DHS and ICE for comment.
