The Trump administration’s threat to massively cancel California federal funds was branded as a “political terror” by members of the California state legislature on Friday.
The statement comes after CNN reported that the Trump administration is preparing to cancel many federal funds in California. The agency is reportedly entrusted with identifying grants that the administration can withhold from California.
“This is a political terror. It’s simple and simple,” wrote Laura Friedman, president of California’s 30th Congressional District. “Californians pay $83 billion in taxes each year than they receive from the federal government. America relies on our taxes, and now Trump wants to punish us.”

The ongoing threat follows a social media post made by President Trump on Monday, warning that California will be “a massive fine” in response to transgender athlete AB Hernandez competing in Clovis’ federal athletics championships between California.
Trump previously said he had “warned” organizers to not let Hernandez compete. Now that she has won the “big,” he will pose a “massive fine” against California.
Ab Hernandez won second place medals and two first place medals at the California Interstate Federal State Athletics Championships held at Clovis High School on May 30th and May 31st.
KTLA’s sister station, Centralvalley.com, contacted the White House in response to a statement.
