Former Georgia GOP Sen. David Purdue was confirmed Tuesday as President Donald Trump’s Chinese ambassador by Senate 67-29.

During his confirmation hearing, Perdieu said that “Marxist nationalism” would remake China and that their global ambitions would threaten the world order.
“Since 2000, China has doubled its nuclear weapons and has nurtured its troops at an invisible pace since World War II. They militarized the South China Sea and violated the agreement in Hong Kong.”
“Their social credit score system and extensive policing capabilities are designed to enforce national control within the country. Their belt and road initiative and statements in China demonstrate their global ambitions,” Perdue said.
“They talk about a global “common community” of common destiny for all humanity. Simply put, they want a world that fits more closely with their authoritarian principles. ”
Perdue continued to argue that Trump’s “America-first” strategy, which has a major impact on US-China relations, is “the opposite” rather than isolationist.
