The two wildfires that broke out within a mile of each other in Riverside County on Wednesday merged quickly, spreading to at least 50 acres as of 1:42pm.
Originally dubbed separately from Brad Fire and Bradford Fire, the Riverside County Fire Department told KTLA that flames were entangled in the brush of Aguanga in the county’s Inland Empire region.
The crew, now only mentioned as Blood Fire, first reported the flames at 12:34pm near Lugo Road and Highway 371. The vegetation was burning at moderate speeds.
An unconfirmed report from the Watch Duty app shows that a fire could burn up to 200 acres, potentially threatening at least 10 structures.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, which includes a reserve communication that has not yet been independently confirmed by the KTLA, authorities are debating 371 closures of both possible and possible evacuation in the area.
Sky5 offers one live update for overhead on the way to the scene.
According to Cal Fire, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
This is a developing story. I will stay at KTLA for updates.
