Two officers were hospitalized after being shot dead by a suspect in a Baldwin Park neighbourhood on Saturday night.
Officers responded to a neighborhood in the 4200 block of Philharmonicles Avenue around 7:21 p.m. It is unknown what happened before the suspect fired the fire.
Both officers were rushed to USC Medical Center for treatment. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, one officer was airlifted and the other was taken by ambulance.

There are reports that the suspect, who fell on the sidewalk, fired at police with a rifle when he attacked two officers while returning the shooting, but police have yet to confirm this details.
Videos from eyewitnesses showed at least two SWAT vehicles and many police cars surrounding the home with officers pointing to firearms to invisible suspects. Air units were also seen circling around the neighborhood.
Alejandro Ramirez, who lives nearby, said he was unsure when he heard at least 10-20 gunshots being fired.
“I ran inside,” he said. “There were a lot [shots]. ”
The officer’s conditions or the severity of the injury was not released.
The presence of large law enforcement remained in residential areas, and authorities were blocked from nearby streets.
Details remain limited and it is unclear whether the suspect was taken into custody.
