Two Ventura High School students are charged with felony after calling a fake bomb and shooting a threat that forced the school to be blocked.
The teenage suspect was only identified as two 15-year-old boys due to the status of the juvenile, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
On May 2nd, at 12:38pm, school staff received a threatening call that someone was on campus with a bomb and was planning to fire.
School officials were quickly called law enforcement and the campus was blocked. All students and staff were ordered to protect themselves in place.
At one point, footage from Sky5 showed students evacuated from the building and escorted in the school’s parking lot.
Ventura police responded to the scene and began an investigation. The two 15-year-olds were later identified as suspicious callers. They were found and detained.

“All the threat of committing violence on our school campus is taken seriously,” said Maureen Byrne, director of the juvenile unit. “The threat of bombs and shootings directed towards the Ventura High School campus made students and staff scared of safety. Our office is committed to ensuring that the school campus is safe for students.”
