University police issued a warning this week to the UC Santa Barbara community, warning them they are keeping an eye on suspects involved in at least two campus hate crimes.

Both cases involved a suspect called a white man, yelling racist fanatics at the victims, as police said they were “motivated by prejudice” against the victim’s perceived ethnicity.

It has not been confirmed whether the suspect is the same man in both reports, but police said they believe the incident is related.

The first crime was reported Monday around 5:55pm outside the Student Health Services Building, according to the warning.

The suspect, who police said he was a stranger to the victim, approached the victim and cried out, “Get out of my country!”

He then asked, “Do you have a green card?”

In addition to verbal abuse, the suspect rode a bike towards the victim and spitted the victim’s face. Police said another person nearby was also hit by the suspect’s spit.

Officials described the suspect as a white man, about 23-27, standing about five feet and 11 inches tall. He had blonde hair and a beard, was said to have a navy blue hat, a dark hoodie, dark pants, black Nike shoes, and had a black backpack.

The suspect also owned a black beach cruiser-style bike, police added.

The second hate crime was reported around 8:18pm Tuesday, but police said it happened before the first crime.

According to the report, it was around 5pm when another “intimidation incident motivated by the victim’s perceived ethnic bias” took place outside the Isla Vista Theatre.

This time, the suspect sat in front of the theater and cried out, “I’ll get an f— from this country b—!”

He then repeated the racist blasphemy to the victims, saying, “Hey b —-, I’ll get an f———————————————————————————————

Police said the suspect is also referred to as an adult white male, but the report estimates that he is about 35 years old and stands 5 feet and 6-8 inches.

He is estimated to weigh about 140-150 pounds with blonde length hair and sloppy face.

The similarity that this suspect’s description shares with the last description in addition to his blonde hair is that the suspect was also said to be wearing dark jeans and a dark jacket, and had a bicycle.

The UCPD says it is investigating these crimes and anyone with information that could assist in the investigation will contact the UCSB Police Station at 805-893-3446 or anonymously report the crime information at www.police.ucsb.edu/report-crime.
