Police are investigating after UCLA employees escaped an attempted robbery with a strong arm on Monday morning.
The UCLA Police Department said it happened on campus around 9:50am.
According to department release, an employee, who was not publicly identified, had left the Health Science Center on Westwood Boulevard when the suspect approached.
The suspect tried to bring the employee’s cell phone from his hand, but police said the victim was able to pull the phone back and run from the scene.
After temporarily following the victim, the suspect turned around and began walking south towards Westwood Village.

Details are limited, and authorities did not immediately say whether the suspect knew the employee or whether there was a struggle before the victim escaped, but no injuries were reported.
Police described the suspect as a man in his 20s, short, curly hair, a dark complexion and a clean shaved hair with a mole under his right eye.
According to the department, he was last seen in a blue moving blanket covered over him.
