Ukraine lost hundreds of troops on the battlefield on the same day Ukrainian President Voldymi Zelenkie made a fiery fallout with President Donald Trump in the White House.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the Ukrainian forces had lost more than 220 troops in the Kursk region on the past day, according to Russian news agency Tass. The Kursk region, also known as the Kursk Oblast, is located in western Russia and crosses the border with the northeastern part of Ukraine.
The forces were killed after 11 armored combat vehicles, 12 cars and seven artillery were destroyed by the Russian army.

Zelenskyy will speak out after the release with Trump, Vance is “bad for both parties,” says Dustup.
The infantry combat vehicle, armored craftsman carrier, seven drone control points and ammunition depot have also been “swepted,” the statement reads.
As the talks between Trump and Zelensky publicly collapsed on Friday, the huge loss came in discussions highlighting Vice President JD Vance’s struggle to recruit Ukrainian troops.
“Everyone has problems even you have. But you have a nice ocean and don’t feel [it] Now you will feel that in the future,” Zelensky said.
The comments irritated Trump, dragged him into a clash, and eventually the consultation collapsed, and the cancelled press conference, mineral contracts were handled from the table.
Quantifying the exact number of war victims is difficult due to limited access to competing reports and reliable data.
Trump says Zelenskyy can “come back when he’s ready for peace” after a fiery White House exchange
Trump previously said “millions of troops have died,” but Zelensky reported earlier this month that around 45,100 Ukrainian soldiers were killed with another 390,000 wounded.
A report from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) estimates that at least 172,000 Russian troops have been killed and 611,000 people have been injured, of which at least 376,000 have been seriously injured.

Trump accused Zelensky of “disregarding” the United States during meeting Friday, saying Ukrainian leaders are not ready to ensure peace in their country.
“We feel our involvement gives him a great advantage in negotiations, so President Zelensky has decided that if America is involved, he is not ready for peace,” Trump told the Truth Social Post on Friday. “I don’t want any advantage, I want peace. He downplayed the United States in his precious oval office. He can come back when he is ready for peace.”
Russia and Ukraine have been at war since February 2022, when Russia first invaded its neighbouring countries. While on the campaign path, Trump has repeatedly said that if he was president in 2022, war would not have erupted.
