The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that it will not file charges against Hollywood film producers who have been accused of at least 15 sexual offences in the past 20 years.
According to the LA Times, David Guillod, producer of “Extraction” and “Atomic Blonde,” was arrested more than four years ago and was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault involving six victims originally from LA and Santa Barbara County.
Since his arrest in October 2020, a Santa Barbara County judge has denied all charges involving four casualties and postponed the charges involving the remaining two victims in LA County.
The accusations faced by Girod included rape, invitations to rape, rape of drug victims, rape of unconscious people, sexual penetration of unconscious people, drunken people by foreigners, sodomy and more.
The Times reported in June 2022 that a Santa Maria judge found inadequate evidence to test Guillod on charges that include four victims who accused him of committing Guillod between 2014 and 2020.
However, the same judge said he found sufficient evidence of the trial in connection with the alleged 2012 attack on “Ted” actress Jessica Baath.
In an announcement on March 21, 2025, Danesan Hochman said his office “cannot prove any allegations of sexual assault against David Guillod beyond reasonable doubt.”
“This allegation is accompanied by deeply troublesome behavior and concerns and empathizes with the pain and trauma that the accuser has experienced throughout this lengthy investigative process,” read Hochman’s release. “Please be aware that our decision on this matter does not undermine the seriousness of the claim and reflects the high legal burden our office faces in certifying criminal charges beyond reasonable doubt.”
Hochman also said that his office will not sues in this case, but “hopes that these women’s examples will seek support from victims of sexual abuse and encourage victims to report the abuse as soon as possible.”
