President Donald Trump denounced the European Union on Sunday for not providing assistance to Gaza, adding that Israel must “have to make a decision” on how Hamas will handle areas where they still hold hostages.
Trump made his comments when he met with President Ursula von der Leyen of Scotland’s European Commission. He argued that the US had given Gazan millions of aid, but no support from European countries.
“We gave $60 million on food for Gaza two weeks ago, and no one admitted it. No one talks about it. And when you do it, you feel a little sick. And you know, you know that other countries are giving nothing.
Trump noted that despite many of them being dead, there was a need to make a deal between Israel and Hamas to end the war and bring the last remaining hostages back to Israel.
“But we have a lot of bodies and parents want those bodies as much as they want if the child is alive,” Trump said of the hostages and their families.

He suggested that Hamas is reluctant to make a deal with the final hostage because he feels that if he loses leverage over Israel it will be “their end.”
“You know, they had a daily discussion the other day and suddenly they strengthened. They don’t want them back, and Israel will have to make a decision,” Trump said.

The meeting comes as the IDF highlights its efforts to deliver aid to Gaza after it has restricted the flow in recent months.

Israel is currently making air drops for aid across the region, with IDF saying it had made 28 drops in the hours on Sunday.
President Donald Trump says Israeli leaders must “have to make decisions” on how to end the war in Gaza.
“Let me be clear: Israel supports civilian aid, not Hamas. The IDF will continue to support the flow of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza,” an IDF spokesperson claimed that Israel had transported about 250 aid-filled trucks to Gaza this week.
