The US embassy in Qatar has told Americans to evacuate until further notice Monday morning following the attack on Iran over the weekend.
The embassy said it made the recommendation “from a wealth of caution” but did not provide other details. Qatar has Aludade Air Base, which has approximately 10,000 US troops deployed.
The consultation comes after the State Department issued a warning to American citizens on Sunday.
“There is a possibility of demonstrations of interests of US citizens and overseas. The State Department advises US citizens around the world to pay attention.”

Iran has vowed to retaliate against the US after American B-2 bombers dropped 14 bunkerbuster bombs on three Iranian nuclear sites.
“In addition to punishing its non-gi-sexual and aggressive descendants, we must know that the hands of Islamic fighters within the army have been released to take action against its interests and the army.
A Qatar foreign affairs spokesperson said, “Recommendations from many embassies do not reflect the existence of a particular threat.”
“The country’s security situation is stable,” the statement said, adding that “the relevant authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of citizens, residents and visitors.”

Iran is primarily expected to launch a counterattack on weekend bombings, but Israeli strikes have taken Iran’s missile launchers and run out of stock of medium-range missiles.
Meanwhile, the US homeland is under a “threatening environment” following weekend strikes, with “low-level cyberattacks on the US network by Iranian hacktivists, allowing cyber actors from Iranian government to launch attacks on the US network.”
