A Ventura County man was arrested for allegedly abused two young children for years.
Leonel Galindo, 36, of Ojay, is accused of targeting two victims who were under the age of 14 at the time, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
The suspicious crime took place in Santa Paula between 2018 and 2020. Galindo was able to access children through family relationships, authorities said.
The abuse reportedly occurred on multiple occasions, prosecutors said.
On May 29th, after an investigation, Galindo was detained outside his workplace.
He was charged with eight felony counts of indecent behavior against a child, along with special allegations of abusing multiple victims and using their status of trust.
“Child protection is our number one priority,” Prime Minister Scott Whitney said. “This arrest reflects our investigators’ dedication and their commitment to seeking justice.”
Witnesses or victims with details about Galindo or the case will be asked to contact District Attorney Investigator Yumi Kirk at 805-477-1638.
A bail review hearing is scheduled for June 3rd in Ventura County Superior Court. Galindo is in custody on $2.4 million bail.
