Families across Ventura County have begun a slow rebuilding process after fires tore through neighborhoods throughout the week. Alex Rozier reports on NBC4 News on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024 at 5 p.m.
It is unclear how many of the 174 buildings destroyed in the fire were residential buildings. The Cal Fire Foundation is providing $250 gift cards to crews to distribute to those affected by the fires.
To further assist those in need due to the fires, the American Red Cross has set up four mobile sites in the Camarillo area to provide resources and support. One mobile site is located on Mission Drive between Santa Cruz and San Clemente Ways, the second is on Mission Drive and West Highland, and the other two are on Valley Vista Drive.
The support center is expected to open later this week with a location in Camarillo to be determined. Another community meeting will be held at Rancho Campana High School on Wednesday at 6 p.m., officials said.
Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for Ventura County in response to the fire. The government also issued an executive order to support fire departments and recovery efforts.
